Claiming International Parcel from Postal Office
There's a new PH law where goods under P10,000 are VAT exempt. I was ecstatic, now I can resume buying stuff internationally. Here I received a notice from Postal Office to claim my international parcel from US.
I went to Postal Office. Paid P100 (for claiming an international parcel). After some queue, they opened my package to check what's inside, just some accessories, then have my package cleared - no customs, vat or other fees.
The package was shipped via USPS First-Class Package International Service®. There was a tracking but it stopped once it left US. I was left wondering where my package is ATM. It took almost a month for this package to arrive at Postal Office and get sorted.
The total I spent for claiming this package is around P200 (including transport fee). Next time, I'm gonna use a mail forwarding service to make sure the package arrive to my doorstep and with tracking!
